Sir John Deane鈥檚 Sixth Form College is judged 鈥涣耻迟蝉迟补苍诲颈苍驳鈥澛�by Ofsted.聽In the report, published on Friday 25th November 2022, the college was rated 鈥榦耻迟蝉迟补苍诲颈苍驳鈥�听颈苍听all areas:聽

• The quality of education聽(OUTSTANDING)
• Behaviour and attitudes聽(OUTSTANDING)
• Personal development聽(OUTSTANDING)
• Leadership and management聽(OUTSTANDING)
• Education programmes for young people聽(OUTSTANDING)

Amongst many highlights, the report states how students do聽鈥渆xceptionally well鈥漚nd are well looked after due to an ambitious curriculum, outstanding teaching and learning and tailored support.

The report noted:聽鈥淭eachers are exceedingly passionate about the subjects they teach. Teachers work cohesively with mentors to provide excellent teaching and support for students.

鈥淪tudents are proud to study at the college and feel part of a community. They are highly motivated, caring and conscientious individuals, who consistently demonstrate exemplary behaviours.鈥�

The report also highlighted the opportunities for students beyond the classroom, listing the huge range of co-curricular activities available, personal development curriculum and careers guidance.

Principal Christopher Atherton, said: 鈥淚n an era when it is becoming increasingly difficult to retain an 鈥渙utstanding鈥� judgement, we are incredibly proud that Sir John Deane鈥檚 remains 鈥渙utstanding鈥� in all areas and has done so for the last 15 years.
